1.Who publishes the app

Quraany (قرآني) is published by Subul. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean the publisher, and "you" means the person using the app.

By installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not install it — and if you have already installed it, uninstalling it ends the arrangement completely, because there is nothing else of yours that we hold.

2.Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for as long as you like. You may not sell it, rent it, sublicense it, or distribute modified copies of it.

The licence covers use of the app. It does not transfer ownership of the app, its design, its name or its mark to you.

3.Free of charge, and staying that way

There is no purchase, no in-app purchase, no subscription, no paywalled feature and no advertising. This is not an introductory offer.

It is also not entirely our choice. The speech recogniser at the centre of the app is licensed to us on the condition that whatever ships it never charges for it. That condition binds this app for as long as it carries that recogniser, and it is a commitment the software is built on rather than a pricing decision we could revisit.

4.Recitation checking is not a teacher

The app can listen to your recitation and mark words back to you as right, near, or worth looking at again. It can be wrong in both directions: it can accept a mistake, and it can flag a word you recited correctly.

It is a practice aid. It is not an ijaza, not a qualification, not a certification of your recitation, and not a substitute for reciting to a qualified teacher who hears you. The app states this about itself on screen, and we state it here too:

«قد أخطئ في التصحيح، ولا أُغني عن شيخ يسمع منك»

I can get the checking wrong, and I am no substitute for a teacher who listens to you.

5.The Qur'anic text

The Qur'anic text and the printed pages are installed with the app and are not fetched from a network, so nothing in transit can alter a letter of what you read. We have taken care that what ships is correct.

Nevertheless, if you find any discrepancy in the text, please tell us through the contact page and we will look at it immediately. For any matter of religious ruling, rely on qualified scholarship rather than on software.

6.What you make in the app

Your notes, bookmarks, khatmas, recorded sittings and settings are yours. They are stored on your device and we never receive them, so we claim no licence over them and can neither read them nor restore them.

That last point cuts both ways: because there is no sync and no backup on our side, deleting the app or losing the device loses that data. If it matters to you, use your device's own backup.

7.Modified devices

Release builds on Android and iOS will not open on a rooted, jailbroken or emulated device, or on an Android phone with developer options switched on. This is a deterrent rather than a guarantee, and we may change how it works without notice. We do not support use of the app on a modified device.

8.Acceptable use

Do not attempt to extract, redistribute or resell the page images, the bundled books, the recitation audio or the speech model.

Do not use the app in a way that infringes the rights of the third parties whose work it carries — the attributions page lists them.

Do not use the contact form to send unlawful, abusive or bulk unsolicited messages.

9.No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that its recitation checking will be accurate, that its prayer times will match those of your local mosque, or that it will be compatible with every device.

10.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of a recorded sitting, or a missed prayer time.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Because the app is supplied free of charge, no fee has been paid that could form the basis of a refund.

11.Third-party content

The app carries text, data, typefaces, recordings and software from other people, each under its own licence. They are set out on the attributions page, and using the app means accepting those licences too where they apply to you.

12.Changes to the app and to these terms

We may change, add to or withdraw features, and we may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when the terms do. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the updated terms; if you do not accept them, uninstall the app.

13.Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the place in which the publisher is established. Where a mandatory consumer-protection law of your own country of residence gives you stronger rights, that law applies and nothing here reduces it.
